Origin and History
The regiment was raised on October 17 1761 by Colonel Macdougall from a cadre of the 31st Regiment of Foot.
During the Seven Years' War, the regiment was under the command of:
- from October 1761: Colonel Macdougall
- from 1762 to 1763: Colonel John Scott
The regiment was disbanded in 1763.

The regiment did not take part to any campaign during the Seven Years' War.
