Origin and History
The regiment was raised on October 19 1761 at Paisley by Colonel Crawford, from a cadre of men detached from the 71st Regiment of Foot for recruiting. It was named the “Royal Scottish Lowlanders”.
During the Seven Years' War, the regiment was under the command of:
- from October 1761 to 1763: Colonel Crawford
The regiment was disbanded in 1763.
