Description of Events

With our recent additions to this article, its has become quite large and had to be split into three distinct articles:

  1. Preparations and arrival (March to May 20, 1758) describing Austrian and Prussian preparations, the initial Prussian operations in Silesia and the recapture of Schweidnitz, the entry of the Prussian Army into Moravia and the preparations for the formal siege of Olmütz;
  2. Siege till the Combat of Domstadl (May 21 to June 30, 1758) describing the manoeuvres of the Prussian covering forces and of the Austrian relief corps while Olmütz was under siege;
  3. From the Combat of Domstadl till the evacuation of Moravia by the Prussian Army (July 1 to August 10, 1758) describing the lifting of the siege of Olmütz, the retreat of the Prussian Army through Bohemia and the departure of Frederick for Brandenburg.
