Description

On November 25, 1759, Frederick had written to Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick, asking for a reinforcement of 4,000 men. On November 28 in the morning, the corps of the Hereditary Prince of Brunswick set out from Marburg, on its way to Saxony. On December 18, the Hereditary Prince, now reinforced with Gilsa's detachment, arrived at Erfurt.

On December 25, the reinforcements requested from the Allies arrived near Chemnitz.
