Description

In August 1759, an Austro-Imperial army was operating in Saxony. The order of battle of this army is detailed in the present article.

Reichsarmee and Austrian Contingent

Oberbehfelshaber: Field Marshal von Pfalz-Zweibrücken

The Order of Battle is taken from Boehm and Rottgardt.

Reichsarmee: 27 bns, 23 grenadier coys, 23 sqns, 35 guns.

Austrian Contingent (KK): 28 sqns, 4 grenzers bns.

All together 13,493 foot, 5,870 horse and 2,647 grenzers for a total of some 22,010 men. In addition, there were about 2,313 men in garrison in Leipzig, Konigshofen and Schmakalden.

in Leipzig: 1,013 men

in Konigshofen: 600 men

in Schmakalden: 700 men
