Origin and History
The regiment was raised in Scotland on August 20 1760 by Colonel James Stewart. It was ordered to assemble at Aberdeen.
During the Seven Years' War, the regiment was under the command of:
- from August 1760: Colonel James Stewart
- from 1762 to 1763: Forrester
The regiment was disbanded in 1763.
Service during the War
From March to June 1761, the regiment took part in the expedition against Belle-Isle. On June 8, the British took possession of Le Palais, the main town on the island. The regiment then garrisoned the island.
