The brig was hired by the Royal Navy in 1756.
During the Seven Years' War, the brig was under the command of:

The brig was captured by a French privateer in November 1756.
Service during the War
In November 1756, the brig was captured off Bamborough Castle after a stout resistance of two hours by the French Infernale (12) of Le Havre. In this action the brig lost 5 men killed and 18 wounded while the privateer lost 7 men killed and 25 wounded.
