a French Corps under the command of the Prince de Croy, 2 bns, and 2 pickets from Vierzet Infanterie and 3 pickets of cavalry marching by way of Unna to cover the supplies and the magazines.
b Two pickets of Vierzet Infanterie under command of Colonel M. de Wietenghoff cover the bridge near Westhofen.
c The Hanoverian Corps under command of General Scheither, consisting of grenadiers, cavalry and jägers faces the French Corps.
d The Hanoverians attack the bridgehead and after a lively fight of half an hour, the French are obliged to leave the bridge.
e Hanoverian troops crossed the bridge.
f The three cavalry pickets from the regiments du Roi, Lusignan and de Salles, attack and repulse the Hanoverians.
g 160 men from the II./Bouillon Infanterie, march through the morass and counterattack, throwing the Hanoverian troops into disorder and obliging them to retire through the bridge.
h Retreat of the Hanoverians.
