Summary

Sauk and Meskwaki men. Both wear a roach of red dyed deer hair and probably porcupine guard hair, attached at its centre with a bone or carved elk antler spreader and fixed with a wooden pin through the scalplock. A feather is attached mounted in a bone or wooden tube fixed to the spreader. This regalia was likely to have been smaller and circular in form at the time of the Seven Years' War.
