Origin and History
In October 1755, since the "Imperatritsa Anna" had shown better performance than the Zakhariy i Elizavet, the Admiralty decided to build a new 100-gun ship, the Svyatoy Dmitriy Rostovskiy using her proportions.
The ship was built by A. Sutherland (А. Сютерланд) at the Admiralty shipyard in St. Petersburg. Her keel was laid down on April 22 1756 (April 11 old style, abbreviated O.S. in this article). She was launched on June 23 1758 (June 12 O.S.). She was attached to the Fleet of the Baltic Sea.
During the Seven Years' War, the ship was under the command of:
- from 1759 to 1761: Captain S.Vaxel (С. Ваксель)
- in 1762: Captain T. Makenzi (Т. Макензи)
The ship was broken up in 1772.
Service during the War
On August 5 1760 (July 25 O.S.), the ship left Kronshtadt with troops aboard. She carried the flag of Admiral Z. D. Mishukov (З. Д. Мишуков) and led the squadron. On August 26 (August 15 O.S.), the fleet arrived in front of Colberg, landed the troops destined to the Siege of Colberg and blockaded the fortress. On September 21 (September 10 O.S.), the ship re-embarked troops and left Colberg. On October 9 (September 28 O.S.) she arrived at Kronshtadt.
On June 24 1761 (June 13 O.S.), the ship left Kronshtadt with troops aboard, leading the squadron destined to the renewed Siege of Colberg. From July 30 to August 22 (July 19 to August 11 O.S.) ships of the squadron landed troops on Cape Rügenwalde. On August 24 (August 13 O.S.), the fleet arrived in front of Colberg. On September 2 (August 22 O.S.), the ships landed part of their crews (including 150 men from the present ship) to reinforce the land army. On October 2 (September 22 O.S.), the ship re-embarked her landed troops and left Colberg. On November 2 (October 22 O.S.), she came back to Kronshtadt.
In 1762, the ship remained in Kronshtadt and did not take part in any action..
