Origin and History

Feldjäger zu Pferd circa 1760 - Source: Becher, circa 1760

Two squadrons of Feldjäger zu Pferd (Horse Jagers) were raised in 1759 as part of the Feldjägerkorps. Each squadron counted about 100 men.

During the Seven Years' War, the successive Kommandeure of the squadrons were:

  • 1759: Major Karl Friedrich Adolph von Bose
  • 1763: Lieutenant-colonel Georg Adelbert von Markowsky

The squadrons were disbanded in 1768.
