Order of battle of the Imperial army at the beginning of May 1701. When several regiments had reached South Tyrol.
Headquarters in Rovereto.
- Nigrelli Infantry in Arco and Riva del Garda
- Alt-Starhemberg Infantry in Rovereto and surroundings
- Jung-Daun Infantry in Trento
- Bagni Infantry between Trento and Salorno
- Guttenstein Infantry between Solorno and Botzen (present-day Bolzano)
- Guido Starhemberg Infantry in Botzen and surroundings
- Herberstein Infantry in Botzen and surroundings
- Serényi Dragoons on their way to Castello della Pietra to the north of Rovereto
- Dietrichstein Dragoons on their way to Castello della Pietra to the north of Rovereto

- Mansfeld Infantry (from Hungary)
- Fürstenberg Infantry (from Bohemia)
- Lothringen Infantry (from Austria)
- Gschwind Infantry (from Austria)
- Lothringen Cuirassiers (from Lower-Austria)
- Vaudémont Cuirassiers (from Hungary)
- Visconti Cuirassiers (from Hungary)
- Taaffe Cuirassiers (from Bohemia)
- Pálffy Cuirassiers (from Bohemia)
- Alt-Hessen-Darmstadt Cuirassiers (from Königgrärtz by Budweis)
- Commercy Cuirassiers (from Bohemia)
- Pfalz-Neuburg Cuirassiers (from Silesia by Schmiedeberg and Trautenau)
- Savoyen Dragoons (from Hungary)
- Vaubonne Dragoons (from Germany)
- Corbelli Cuirassiers (from Freistadt in Upper-Austria)
- Deák Hussars (from Ofen)
The Artillery and the supply train were still on the march.
Finally a Danish Auxiliary Corps was on the march from Saxony.
