French Army of Italy
The Franco-Spanish army had entrenchments had entrenchments on the Lower Oglio from Torre d'Oglio to Gazzuolo. By the end of the campaign, each battalion counted an average of 300 men and each squadron, 100 men. Overall, Villeroy had some 21,300 foot and 8,000 horse under his command.

- in Montferrat: 30 sqns under the Marquis de Barbezières seconded by Asfeld
- in Alessandria: 14 sqns under the Marquis de Vaubécourt seconded by the Marquis de Bissy and the Comte Murcey
- in the Duchy of Mantua: 19 bns and 12 sqns under the Comte de Tessé seconded by Zurlauben including:
- 3 bns in Goito
- 1 Spanish bn and 1 Mantuan bn in Mantua
- in Pavia: 3 bns

- in Pizzighettone: 2 bns
- in Soncino: 2 bns

The Spanish army operating in Italy consisted of:
