Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 4 January 1702 by N., Marquis de Bandeville.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

After its destruction at Blenheim in 1704, the regiment was never re-established.
Service during the War
In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of the Rhine.
In August and September 1703, the regiment took part in the Siege of Alt-Breisach. After the capture of the place, it formed part of its garrison.
In 1704, the regiment joined the French army operating in Bavaria. On 13 August, it fought in the disastrous Battle of Blenheim where it was virtually annihilated and its colonel was killed.
The regiment was never re-established.
