Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 3 September 1702 by Louis de Talaru, Marquis de Chalmazel.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:
- from 3 September 1702: Louis de Talaru, Marquis de Chalmazel
The regiment was incorporated into Picardie Infanterie on 7 October 1714.
Service during the War
In 1703, the regiment served with the Army of the Rhine.
In September and October 1705, the regiment took part in the unsuccessful defence of Haguenau.
From the end of 1705, the regiment was stationed in the Lines of the Lauter until the end of the war.
