Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 4 February 1706 by N. Chevalier de Choisel.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:
- from 4 February 1706: N. Chevalier de Choisel
- from August 1712 to 1714: N. Chevalier d'Houdetot (killed at the siege of Barcelona in 1714).
The regiment was disbanded in 1714.

In 1706, the regiment joined the Army of Spain.
