Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 7 May 1702 by François de La Tour du Pin, Comte de Choisinet.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by
- from 7 May 1702: François de La Tour du Pin, Comte de Choisinet
- from 1705: N. de Cordes
- from 1710: N. de Villeneuve
- from 26 January 1712 to 30 July 1715: Henri-Joseph, Comte de Caylus-Rouairoux.
The regiment was disbanded on 30 July 1715.
Service during the War
In 1703, the regiment was sent to Italy.
From October 1704, the regiment took part in the Siege of Verrua.
In 1707, the regiment took part in the defence of Toulon.
From 1707, the regiment served with the Army of Dauphiné.
