Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 4 February 1706 by N. de Clairefontaine.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 4 February 1706: N. de Clairefontaine
  • from 1712: N. de Talleyrand (killed at the siege of Barcelona in 1714)
  • from 1714 to 30 January 1715: N. de Maulevrier

The regiment was disbanded on 30 January 1715.

Service during the War

In 1706, the regiment joined the Army of Spain.

In 1714, the regiment was present at the siege and capture of Barcelona, where its colonel was killed.
