Origin and History

On 12 April 1701, Jean-Jacques de La Croix was authorised to raise a company of 200 fusiliers. On 8 December, he was authorised to raise a company of 100 dragoons.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 12 April 1701 to 6 October 1714: Jean-Jacques de La Croix

The companies were disbanded on 6 October 1714.

Service during the War

During the war, the two companies were gradually increased to 300 fusiliers and 150 dragoons.
