Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 5 July 1702 by Michel-Jean-Baptiste Charron, Marquis de Conflans-Ménars.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 5 July 1702: Michel-Jean-Baptiste Charron, Marquis de Conflans-Ménars
  • from 1 December 1708: N. D’Astour
  • from 1711 to 31 December 1713: N. d’Hernoton

The regiment was disbanded on 31 December 1713.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of Flanders.

In 1705, the regiment was transferred to the Moselle.

In 1706, the regiment took part to Villarsexpedition against the Lines of the Moder.

In 1707, the regiment returned to Flanders.

On 11 July 1708, the regiment took part in the Battle of Oudenarde.

In 1711, the regiment was present at the Combat of Arleux, where is colonel was severely wounded.
