Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 10 December 1702 by Charles, Marquis d'Houdetot.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 10 December 1702 to 30 December 1714: Charles, Marquis d'Houdetot

The regiment was disbanded on 30 December 1714.

Service during the War

In 1703, the regiment served with the Army of the Rhine.

In 1706, the regiment took part in Villars's offensive against the Lines of the Moder.

In 1707, the regiment was transferred to Flanders.
