Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 25 July 1702 by Antoine Oudart, Marquis de Bièz.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 25 July 1702: Antoine Oudart, Marquis de Bièz
  • from June 1710 to 1714: Marie-Charles-Joseph de Grossoles de Flamarens

The regiment was disbanded in 1714.

Service during the War

In 1703, the regiment served with the Army of Flanders.

On 23 May 1706, the regiment was supposedly present at the Battle of Ramillies. However, we found no mention of it in the order of battle.

On 11 July 1708, the regiment took part in the Battle of Oudenarde.

In 1711, the regiment was transferred to the Alps.
