Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 4 February 1706 by N. Marquis de Gramont.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:
- from 4 February 1706: N. Marquis de Gramont
- from 1709 to 1714: N. de Saive
The regiment was disbanded in 1714.
Service during the War
From 1706 to 1709, the regiment garrisoned various places in Roussillon.
In 1709, the regiment was transferred to the Alps.
