Origin and History

The regiment was raised in 1704 for Colonel von Hanstein.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regimental Chefs were:

  • from 1704: Colonel R. von Hanstein
  • from 1706: Colonel Prince J.A. von Sachsen-Anhalt
  • from 1713 to 1735: Colonel E.H. von Diemar

In 1788, the regiment was incorporated in a dragoon regiment.
