Origin and History
The regiment was created on 25 July 1702 by Jacques Blanchet de Pierre-Buffière, Marquis de Lostanges.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by
- from 25 July 1702: Jacques Blanchet de Pierre-Buffière, Marquis de Lostanges
- from June 1707 to 1714: N. de Rasilly
The regiment was disbanded in 1714.
Service during the War
In 1702, the regiment served with the Army of Flanders.
On 30 June 1703, the regiment supposedly took part in the Battle of Ekeren, although we found no mention of this unit in any order of battle.
On 23 May 1706, the regiment was supposedly present at the Battle of Ramillies, although we found no mention of this unit in any order of battle. It later took part in the defence of Ostend.
The regiment then served in various garrisons until the end of the war.
