Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 3 February 1706 by Anne-Jules, Maréchal de Noailles.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 3 February 1706: Anne-Jules, Maréchal de Noailles
  • from 26 February 1709 to 21 January 1714: Bénigne de Bouhyer

On 21 January 1714, the regiment was incorporated into Dauphin Infanterie.

Service during the War

From 1706 to 1709, the regiment served in Roussillon and Dauphiné.

In 1709, the regiment was transferred to the Lines of the Lauter.
