Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 14 May 1702 by N. de Martel.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by
- from 14 May 1702: N. de Martel
- from 3 May 1710 to 2 June 1714: N. Rousseau de Laubanie
On 2 June 1714, the regiment was incorporated in Royal Infanterie.
Service during the War
Throughout the war, the regiment garrisoned various places on the Moselle and manned the Lines of the Lauter.
