Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 14 May 1702 by N. de Montfort.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 14 May 1702: N. de Montfort
  • from 3 February 1706: Jérôme-Augustin de Boisset, Marquis d’Arville
  • from 1708: N. Duprat
  • from 1711 to 1714: N. de Bonneval

The regiment was disbanded in 1714.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment was allocated to the Army of the Rhine.

In 1703 and 1704, the regiment formed part of the Army of Bavaria.

In 1706, the regiment served with the Army of Flanders and took part in the defence of Ostend.
