Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 21 December 1701 by N. de Grégori des Gardies, Marquis de Montpeyroux.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 21 December 1701: N. de Grégori des Gardies, Marquis de Montpeyroux
  • from 1702: N. de Montarois
  • from 1704 to 1706: N. de Châtillon

The regiment is not mentioned after its capture at Pianezza at the beginning of 1706.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of Italy.

At the beginning of 1706, the regiment was taken prisoners at Pianezza.
