Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 5 July 1702 by N. Comte d’Ourches.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 5 July 1702: N. Comte d’Ourches
  • from 1705: N. du Boulay
  • from 25 October 1710 to 1 February 1715: François de Bovelles d’Eppeville

On 1 February 1715, the regiment was incorporated in La Reine Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1703, the regiment joined the Army of Italy.

In 1707, the regiment was sent to Flanders, where it assumed garrison duty.
