Origin and History

This unit was raised in the Spanish Netherlands in 1703 by Jacques Pastur (or Pasteur or Pastour). It was formed with 300 dragoons on horse and 500 dragoons on foot, which suggests a group of free companies.

The colonel of the unit was:

  • from 1703 to 17??: Jacques Pastur (aka Pasteur, Pastour)

The regiment was disbanded in 1715.

Service during the War

In 1710, the regiment went to France where it stayed until 1713.

In 1713, the regiment was sent to Spain.
