The regiment was raised on 7 May 1702 by N. de Richebourg.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 7 May 1702: N. de Richebourg
  • from 1704: N. de Barville
  • from 1707 to 1714: N. de Riberac

The regiment was disbanded in 1714.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of Flanders.

In 1706, the regiment was sent to the Alps.

In 1707, the regiment took part in the defence of Toulon.

In 171?, the regiment was transferred to Catalonia.
