Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 26 April 1702 by N. de Roze.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 26 April 1702: N. de Roze
  • from 1704: N. de Provenchères
  • from 19 January 1706 to 21 January 1714: Pierre-Jean de Carcavy d’Ussy

On 21 January 1714, the regiment was incorporated in Champagne Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of of the Rhine. It served in the Lines of the Lauter until 1709.

In 1710, the regiment was transferred to the Army of Flanders.

In 1711, the regiment returned to the Lines of the Lauter.
