Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 15 December 1705 by Henri-Joseph, Marquis de Ségur.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 15 December 1705: N. de Ségur
  • from 6 October 1706: Henri-François, Comte de Ségur
  • from September 1709 to 31 July 1715: François-Louis de Cernay, Comte de Danois

The regiment was disbanded on 31 July 1715.

Service during the War

In 170?, the regiment formed part of the garrison of Puigcerdà.

On 10 December 1710, the regiment was supposedly present at the Combat of Villaviciosa, but we found no trace of this unit in the order of battle.

In 1714, the regiment took part in the siege and capture of Barcelona.
