Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 4 February 1706 by Charles-François d'Estaing, Marquis de Saillant.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 4 February 1706: Charles-François d'Estaing, Marquis de Saillant
  • from 2 April 1712 to 1714: N. d'Ussel

The regiment was disbanded in 1714.

Service during the War

From 1706 to 1710, the regiment was attached to the Army of Dauphiné.

In 1710, the regiment was transferred to the County of Nice.

In 1711, the regiment was sent to the Rhine.
