Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 18 January 1702 by Armand-Louis-Joseph Foucauld, Chevalier de Saint-Germain-Beaupré.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 18 January 1702 to 24 January 1715: Armand-Louis-Joseph Foucauld, Chevalier de Saint-Germain-Beaupré

On 24 January 1715, The regiment was incorporated in Picardie Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of Flanders.

In 1705, the regiment was transferred to the Moselle and Lauter rivers.

In 1706, the regiment returned to Flanders. It took part in the defence of Ath, where it was taken prisoners.

In 1707, the regiment was exchanged. It spent the rest of the war in various garrisons.
