Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 25 July 1702 by Lancelot de Turpin de Crissé, Comte de Sanzay.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 25 July 1702: Lancelot de Turpin de Crissé, Comte de Sanzay
  • from 17 October 1703: N. du Bouchet, Chevalier de Sourches
  • from 5 September 1706 to 19 January 1714: Antoine, Baron de Choiseul Beaupré

On 19 January 1714, the regiment was incorporated into Boufflers Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment served with the Army of Flanders.

The regiment was posted in the Lines of the Lauter until the end of the war.
