Origin and History
The regiment was raised on 3 September 1702 by N. de Savigny.
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:
- from 3 September 1702: N. Marquis de Savigny
- from 1708: N. de Boisset de Geaix
- from 28 April 1711 to 1714: N. Bérard
The regiment was disbanded in 1714.
Service during the War
In 1703, the regiment joined the Army of the Rhine.
From September to November 1704, the regiment took part in the defence of Landau, which surrendered on 23 November.
From 1705 to the end of the war, the regiment was posted in the Lines of the Lauter.
