Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 25 July 1702 by Antoine de Pons, Chevalier de Talende.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 25 July 1702: Antoine de Pons, Chevalier de Talende
  • from June 1705: N. Duchay
  • from 1709 to January 1715: N. d’Arcy

The regiment was disbanded in January 1715.

Service during the War

In 1703, the regiment was allocated to the Army of Flanders.

In 1704, the regiment was transferred to the Moselle River.

In the second half of 1705, the regiment was sent to Dauphiné.

In 1713, the regiment served in Spain.

In 1714, the regiment took part in the siege and capture of Barcelona.
