Origin and History

The regiment was created on 25 July 1702 by Gilles de Carné, Marquis de Trécesson.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 25 July 1702 to 3 February 1715: Gilles de Carné, Marquis de Trécesson

The regiment was disbanded on 3 February 1715.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment served with the Army of the Rhine.

In August and September 1703, the regiment took part in the Siege of Alt-Breisach. After the capture of the place, it formed part of its garrison until the end of the war.
