Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 7 May 1702 by Louis-Philippe de Menou, Marquis de Turbilly.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 7 May 1702 to 20 September 1714: Louis-Philippe de Menou, Marquis de Turbilly

On 20 September 1714, the regiment was incorporated in Tallard Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment joined the Army of Flanders.

In 1705, the regiment crossed the Moselle.

In 1706, the regiment took part in Villars’ expedition.

By the end of the war, the regiment was serving on the Rhine.
