Origin and History

This Swiss regiment was raised on 15 September 1702 by N. Vigier de Steinbrugg.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by:

  • from 15 September 1702: N. Vigier de Steinbrugg
  • from 1708 to 1715: N. Tiester

The regiment was disbanded 11 February 1715.

Service during the War

After its creation, the regiment was placed in garrison in Trier.

In 1707, the regiment joined the Army of Flanders.
