Brunswick_Grenadier_Mitre_Frontplate_1777.jpg (200 × 217 pixels, file size: 18 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
Front plate of the mitre cap of a Brunswick grenadier company in 1777.
The front plate was in the button colour of the regiment. The backing was probably of the facing colour of the regiment, showing through the small cut-outs.
The mitre cap was probably of the Prussian style, with pompom and flaming grenade side badges. The back badge is not known.
N.B.: this pattern of front plate was probably worn from 1748 to 1777.
