Origin and History

The regiment was raised on 7 May 1702 by N. des Feugerez.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment was commanded by

  • from 7 May 1702: N. des Feugerez
  • from 8 August 1706: Alexandre-Louis de Girardin de Vauvray
  • from 10 April 1707 to 28 May 1714: François du Prat de Nantouillet, Comte de Barbançon

On 28 May 1714, the regiment was incorporated in Boufflers Infanterie (probably Boufflers-Rémiancourt Infanterie.

Service during the War

In 1702, the regiment was sent to Flanders, where it assumed garrison duty in various places throughout the war.
